Jessica Lea Mayfield

“Tell Me”, the new album from one of Nonesuch’s most promising young artists.

Jessica Lea Mayfield’s Nonesuch Records debut, Tell Me, will be released February 8, 2011; the vinyl album is due out February 22. Produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, the album follows Mayfield’s acclaimed 2008 release, With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, which debuted in the CMJ Top 200 and in the Top 50 on the “Indie Albums” chart. Pitchfork gave that album an 8.2, calling it “fascinating and endlessly listenable.” The New York Times has described her voice as “somewhere between Lucinda Williams’ and Hope Sandoval’s.” NPR’s World Cafe says she has “a mature sound that seems evolved beyond her years.”
